Versa Marker with color pencils, oh my!!

Yesterday afternoon, I was trying to make some samples for the project which I'm contributed.

What I try was, clear emboss over stamped and colored images, so I used my Versa Marker (which is marker version of VersaMark) to wet the image... then a miracle happened.
My images were colored with pencils (my favorite Prismacolor), these colors RUN and BLENDING!!
It works like a Gamsol which usually used for blending color pencils!!
Then I played with another brand or non-brand pencils, all works good,.

So, here's my sample pics and finished card.

Step by step instruction.
1. Stamp the image with your favorite ink on non-coated card stock.
I used VersaFine becuase it gives crisp image and won't stain my clear stamps.

2. Color with pencils.  Base color only at this stage.  You can add more colors later.

Now take your Versa Marker.

3. Hair has been blended with Versa Marker.
(sorry for burred image)

4. Clean off your VersaMarker - just scribble on scrap paper until clear.

5. Bows, face, dress have been done.  Now adding red dot on her dress.

6. Add cheeks - tiny dots of red.

7. Blending out with circular motion.

Then I added shades and highlights, color cakes, and blend.
Finishing with some pearls and rhinestones.

It's pretty fun to see the colors blending.

Hope you enjoy this project.

Until next time :)

Nestabilities Storage Idea

Hi all!

I just wanted share my Nestabilities storage idea which is pretty simple and easy!

Cut a magnet sheet about 5" square, stick dies, tack in CD binders. That's it.

Also i put original label cut into the size also, so that I know where to put back.

My CD binder has zipper closure it helps my dies secure.
Also I'm working on labeling each set with my new labeling machine (which is addictive :)

Have a good stamping day!

ATC Frame Card

I was inspired my stamping friend @tinydots, have challenged to make ATC Frame Card of my own.

Supplies:

  • Cardstock for card, contrasting cardstock for frame
  • Nestabilities
  • Embossing Folder
  • Ink (I used VersaMagic for this project)
  • Scraps of ribbon
  • Glue
  • Stamp

1.  Cut out the window for the ATC which is slightly smaller than ATC.

2.Cut the frame using 2 sizes of die. Scotch tape helps holding 2 dies at the right position.

3. Run embossing folder to make dry embossing. Then add ink to the raised image (sorry for no pic.)

4. Stamp 4 corners for decoration.  I used Martha Stewart Crafts' [Stamp Around The Page]

5. Glue Ribbons and Frame.  Finish!  ATC will be placed inside the card.

I intentionally make this [non-direction] design, so that I can use both vertical/holizontal ATC as these pictures.

thank you for reading.

I've just started this blog to share my stamping ideas and tips with you.
In the meantime, as a member of Artist In Resident (AIR) of Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko, I'd like to share more information or techniques of their products.

AIR will be announced officially in a couple of weeks.  Keep in touch!
